Are You Deleting Spam Comments?

Delete it!

Delete it!

I have noticed that many site owners don’t appear to be deleting or blocking spam comments. Is it because of the recent announcement by Google that implies that they place little value on comments within blog posts and therefore your linkjuice will not flow external to your site?

Is this why site owners are being a little less rigorous in blocking spam?

Whatever the reason, then you’re making a big mistake.

Seeing a bunch of spam comments at the end of your post suggests to me that you place little value on the thoughts of your readers. Comments to you are just a way of adding content to your web site, and not an opportunity to interact with the very people that you are trying to attract.

Do yourself, and your readers, a favour. Block and delete spam.

Spam detracts from your web site and it detracts from the Internet.

I agree 100%.
You have to delete spam.
Otherwise you’re a spammer!
